Our social commitment

/ Empowering youth through entrepreneurship

Across all our business activities, Mitiska is committed to the development of social values, sustainable employment and the encouragement of entrepreneurship. We take pride in having contributed to the creation of more than 10,000 jobs in the course of our investment activities.

Entrepreneurship is at the heart of Mitiska and, in line with this ethos, we are proud to be a co-founder, sponsor and active board member of YouthStart, an organisation which aims to stimulate young disadvantaged or low-income people through entrepreneurship education to develop their hidden talents and potential.

YouthStart
Empowering youth

YouthStart offers disadvantaged young people aged 16 to 30 years a unique and stimulating training program based on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Through the program, they regain their self-confidence and trust in others, essential steps in moving forward and building a high-quality professional and personal future.

Since the creation of YouthStart as a not-for-profit organisation over 20 years ago, more than 9,000 young people throughout Belgium have participated in its training programs. An impact study conducted by VUB (Vrije Universiteit Brussels) found that overall 84% of YouthStart participants, and 70% of those not in employment, education or training, found their way forward after completing the program by either going back to school, getting a job or starting their own business.

These impressive results are proof of the real impact that YouthStart has on a young person’s journey to discover their talents and learn how to take charge of their future.

“We are proud to be a founding supporter of YouthStart, an organisation that inspires self-confidence and an entrepreneurial spirit to positively impact the lives of disadvantaged young people.”
